We better start learning some serious survival skills before it's too late

You wake up in the morning, you open your fridge, and look for an apple. The apple is in the fridge, because a dozen people grew it somewhere across the world, shipped it to your country, and got distributed to the market nearby your home. You passed by the market the day before, and fancied some apples, so you bought some from the seller.

Imagine, in the near future, without these dozen people working indirectly for you. Will you be able to grow some apples yourself?

In the age of cheap digital single-lens reflex (commonly known by its acronym, DSLR), readily available at most consumer electronic retailers, one would think to learn photography effectively, you will need one of those, or something more exotic, like a range finder. But I disagree.
